What We Missed: Alumni News

Our alumni have been busy this summer with jobs, publications, and writing projects. Read along for news from some of our recent graduates.

Krystal Baugher (MAWP ’10) has just published an article in the online journal Elephant.  The article has the provocative title of “More Sex with More People: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Open Relationships”.

Matt Bowen (MAWP) spent seven seasons in the NFL as a strong safety with the Rams, Packers, Redskins and Bills, including playing for Lovie Smith and Mike Martz in St. Louis. He writes for the Chicago Tribune and nationalfootballpost.com. Bowen also signed a deal with sportscaster Doug Flutie to co-write Flutie’s book on raising an autistic child. Read his most recent column for the Tribune, “Was it Worth it?,” exploring the concept of concussions in sports.

Carolyn Dorant (MAWP ’10) was hired by the editorial department at Groupon in August.  She researches businesses that are slated to appear on the site in almost 100 cities and writes a little bit of copy. She is pleased to sit next to fellow DePaul alumna, Brittany Julious (BA ’09).

Cassandra Harlan (MAWP ’10) is now an English instructor at the West Town Academy, an alternative high school in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago. Cassandra is teaching junior English and journalism.
