Alumna News: Allison Tyndall Locke

Allison Tyndall Locke graduated from the MAE program in 2005 while working for DePaul’s Steans Center for Community-based Service Learning. She taught part-time in WRD from 2006-10 and at Loyola from 2008-10 before starting her PhD in literature this year at Stony Brook University in Long Island. At Stony Brook, Allison is studying early modern English drama and continues to learn Arabic since taking a class at DePaul in summer 2010. She was recently accepted to the 2011 NEH Summer Institute at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC. The Institute, “Shakespeare: From the Globe to the Global,” runs for five weeks and is taught by an international group of Shakespeare scholars. Next year, Allison will begin to teach literature as part of her teaching assistantship, connecting early modern English plays with their classical Greek and Roman sources.
