Alia Neaton

Alia NeatonProgram: M. A. in Writing and Publishing

Accomplishments, Awards, Publications, and Scholarships:

  • PTS Award Recipient
  • Volunteer for Young Chicago Author’s Louder Than A Bomb 2013
  • Presenter in Poetry during DePaul’s Spring English Conference 2013
  • Guest Blogger for Ex Libris May 2013
  • Freelance Copy Editor for WalkJogRun.net

Favorite Courses at DePaul: My favorite classes were Poetry with Richard Jones, Travel Writing with Michelle Morano, and Memoir/Geography of Memory with Barrie Jean Borich.

Post-graduation Plans: After graduating, I’m dedicating the subsequent year (at least!) to crafting novel-length works  in both fiction and creative nonfiction. I also hope to travel, work as a freelance copy editor, and submit shorter pieces for publication. For now, I’m leaving the five-year plan to time and opportunity!
