Rhiannon Falzone

Rhiannon FalzoneProgram: M. A. in Writing and Publishing

Accomplishments, Awards, Publications, and Scholarships: A personal essay Let Her Go published for the Spring 2012 edition of The Violet: thevioletonline.com/issues, three sports writing publications for ChicagoSide: chicagosidesports.com/author/rhiannon-falzone, the first of which I spoke about on DePaul Radio and WLPR NW Indiana Radio. I attended a fantastic Chicago Women in Publishing event and wrote about it for Ex-Libris: depaulenggrads.wordpress.com/2012/02/20/lessons-from-chicago-women-in-publishing-guest-post-by-rhiannon-falzone. I also had a nonfiction piece published in the 2012 edition of Threshold.
Favorite Courses at DePaul: My favorites were Magazine Editing with Gioia Diliberto, Ted Anton’s Writing the Literature of Fact, and Dr. Sirles’ New Journalism. Gioia was the best. I learned so much from her. Everyone should take her.

Post-graduation Plans: Working full-time, blogging at chicagogirlmoveson.blogspot.com, continuing to do freelance work especially sports writing for ChicagoSide, sending lots of pitches to magazines, and I’m currently working on my first book: about the lessons I’ve learned (so far) in my 28th year.
