They are also offering a $100 award to the visual artist selected as the issue’s “featured artist.”

This writing competition is open to writers of all ages. The most recent issue featured work from professors and graduate students, as well as from undergraduates. In addition to the general competition, Literary Laundry is also sponsoring an undergraduate-only competition, offering $250 for the best undergraduate poem and $250 for the best undergraduate short story.

And finally, you may have noticed that Kenmore Avenue has been closed between Fullerton and Belden. Although current students may have had to deal with parking headaches because of it, DePaul’s Campus Recreation is using it as a reason to celebrate. This Friday, May 4th from 3-6 pm, Campus Recreation will be holding a Block Party at Kenmore and Belden, with free food, music, games, bike wash and tire fill station, and more. Open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the greater DePaul community.
