Publisher Seeks Romance Writer to Join Team
Blackbird Publishing is a bootstrapped and profitable, Chicago-based, digital publishing startup focused on producing engaging and dynamic stories in the Contemporary Romance and New Adult genres. We solely distribute content through digital platforms like Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and Barnes & Noble NookPress. Since our founding in 2012, our titles have sold over 180,000 copies. We have produced multiple Kindle Bestselling titles as well as a USA Today Bestseller. We are looking for talented and ambitious full-time writers to join our in-house writing team. Your main job responsibility will be collaborating with a small team to write romance novels. Though candidates are not required to have previous experience in the romance genre, personal interest in the genre is preferable. Ideal candidates for this position will be aspiring commercial fiction writers, looking to write in a fast paced, fun, and casual environment.
Requirements: Fiction writing and editing experience. Familiarity with the romance genre (preferable but optional). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Self-motivation and a desire to learn quickly.
Responsibilities: Work in a small team to write romance novels. Read and analyze popular and bestselling romance books. Additional duties as needed.
