Modern Luxury Publication Seeks an Experienced and Dynamic Editor-in-Chief

Chicago Social Magazine, a Modern Luxury publication, seeks an experienced and dynamic Editor-in-Chief/Group Editor. The multi-faceted position will develop and oversee the magazine’s luxe content focusing on trends, fashion, home, real estate, art, design, society, events, profiles, dining, wine/spirits, etc. The position will also oversee the special interest magazines under the CS umbrella as group editor. The role includes managing an editorial budget, story ideation, crafting editorial lineups, building and maintaining community relations, managing a large freelance team and editorial staff, as well as editorial work flow process from start to finish. Attending cultural/society events weekly to represent CS magazine and spending time out and about tracking openings/trends etc. is also part of this role.

The ideal candidate is a motivated team leader, has superb time management skills and is a top-notch writer and editor with an entertaining yet sophisticated voice. He/she thrives on being the first to know before something new opens and has a rolodex filled with the citys movers and shakers. An eye for style and the finer things as well as a can-do attitude are also important characteristics. Magazine experience and a firm grasp of luxury is a must. Candidate should be well-versed in AP style and have ample experience overseeing all aspects of magazine editorial as well as reporting and writing, preferably for a highly respected regional or national title. Candidates should be located in Chicago or be willing to relocate at their expense. Must know the city and it’s key players well. Only qualified candidates will be contacted.
