Borja Cabada Has Flash Fiction Piece Published

When Borja Cabada isn’t running writing groups for the UCWbL, he’s busy working as a mad sketching quick witted writer. He had this to say about the recent publication of his piece “Von Cryczech Country Club” in the The Newer York.

When I’m not immersed in a new screenplay I live in the strange world of Edward Gorey and Russell Edson, at least most of the time. It’s fun and it’s weird and it always amazes me. Why I write the things I write or draw the things I draw is something that on occasions not even I can quite make sense out of. There is an innate sensory quality to every notion and emotion that cannot really be explained unless you picture them, hear them, smell them, touch them, taste them in your head first. The stories are just there. I simply try to bring them out through the senses the best way I can—some of them in the form of a script, others in the form of an illustration, others in prose, and others even with music. This flash fiction piece and cartoon are just an honest attempt at sharing meaning on its own terms
