REMINDER: Submissions Due January 31 for Nelson Algren Contest

As a reminder, The Chicago Tribune will close submissions to their 2017 Nelson Algren Literary Contest on January 31!

They are accepting submission of 8,000 words with a limit of two stories per author. There is no entry fee. The winner will receive $3,500.

The Chicago Tribune’s Nelson Algren Literary Awards is a nationally recognized contest for original short fiction, named in honor of the Chicago literary great Nelson Algren. The contest has been held annually since 1981. The award has been presented to a number of distinguished authors, including Louise Erdrich and Stuart Dybek.
