On Wednesday, November 15, The Wilder Family and The Newberry Library will present “Chasing Wilder in Chicago: Thornton Wilder’s The Eighth Day.” This 50th anniversary of Wilder’s National Book Award-winning, Chicago based novel will feature a conversation with Thornton Wilder’s nephew and literary executor Tappan Wilder, Jeremy McCarter and Liesl Olson; readings from the novel by professional Chicago-area actors; and cake! The event starts at 5pm with a reception and it is free and open to the public. Reservations are recommended.
