Teaching Internships in Two-Year Colleges

The following students are currently doing the 2-Year College Teaching Internships: Heath Black (MAE), Harold Washington College; Steve Bogdaniec (MAWP), Wright College; Erin Carr (WRD), College of Lake County; Jennifer Davis (MAE), College of Lake County; Kevin Lyon (WRD) Wright College; Shabnam Mahmood (MAWP), Wright College; Jennifer McKinney (MAE) College of Lake County.


Steve Bogdaniec

Steve Bogdaniec (MAWP) is a contributing author to Pop Bunker, a pop culture website that covers movies, television, comics, books, and music.  Steve writes the column “Sequel City,” which presents and discusses the oft-maligned art form that is the movie sequel.  (Recent articles have taken a look at Police Academy 3: Back in Training and Batman Forever.)

Steve presented poetry and a one-act play at the 2010 EGSA Spring Conference, held at DePaul in May 2010.  He was also the Nonfiction Head Editor for the 2010 edition of Threshold, DePaul’s literary magazine.

Greg Shumaker

Greg Shumaker (MAWP) wrote an essay about his love for Madonna in Professor Mark Turcotte’s Urban Essay workshop, which is now featured on the website www.cc2k.us. Read the article, titled “Guilty Pleasure: Personal Revelations Through The Material Girl.”


Molly Tranberg

Molly Tranberg (MAWP) recently published an article she wrote in Professor Ted Anton’s Science Writing course. The article, titled “Prowling Owls Proves a Hoot,” appeared in the Michigan Audubon Society’s bimonthly magazine, The Jack-Pine Warbler, last spring.
