14East is a independent online magazine run by DePaul Communications department. This year, their Creative Writing Editor, Eliot Solomon, is putting together a poetry edition, and is seeking student submissions. The edition will go along with a slam poetry night on Friday, November 13, where poets can share their work in front of an audience.
Poems should be based on the following theme:
“Write a poem inspired by ugly postmodernist architecture, suburban nightmares, strip mall parking lots, and anything else you’d find while driving through the 12 circles of McMansion Hell.”
Submissions are due on November 1st. Learn more about 14East here, and find submission information here.
