This anthology seeks to bring together the magic of the Tarot, photography and poetry. They are looking for 78 poets to create original poems in response to a Tarot card they are assigned. The Langston Hughes Society will be holding a special roundtable on the poetry of social justice as well as their annual luncheon at the College Language Association Convention in Chicago next month. The luncheon is a highly anticipated event, this year featuring award-winning poet, Nikky Finney.   Electronic registration is open on their website at http://www.langstonhughessociety.org/.

In each biannual issue, SER publishes poetry, literary fiction, creative nonfiction, book reviews, interviews, and art. They aim to present emerging writers on the same stage as established authors—they seek quality work for their quality publication.  2018 Contest: The Future Each year, three prizes of $1,000 each and publication in Sonora Review are awarded to a short story, an essay, and a poem or group of poems.  The Antioch Writers’ Workshop at University of Dayton is presenting the Richard M. Sirota Prize and Scholarship. It consists of full tuition to the Antioch Writers’ Workshop, which will be held July 14-20, a stipend for lodging, and publication of a short story in a forthcoming issue of the AWW Collection. The deadline to submit is April 15, 2018 and winners will be announced on May 15, 2018. Submission guidelines for the scholarship as well as a few other scholarships they offer can be found here.
