The North American Review is accepting submissions for the Torch Memorial Prize for Creative Nonfiction until April 1. First prize is $500. Interested students can find out more online or by contacting nar@uni.edu.

Arcturus, the sister publication of the Chicago Review of Books, is currently holding three different writing contests in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. All contests offer a $100 cash prize, publication, and a feature interview the Chicago Review of Books. Fiction and nonfiction should be no longer then 10,000 words. Poetry submissions should be no more than 10 pages total, roughly 3-5 poems. The contests themes are broadly ‘new perspectives.’ Find out more online. Submissions are due April 1.

Australian Book Review is now accepting entries for the 2017 Elizabeth Short Story Prize. They are accepting submissions between 2,000 and 5,000 words, that have not been previously published or have been submitted to any other prizes or publications. The grand prize is $7,000, with $2,000, $1,000, and $850 consolation prizes. Find out more and submit online.

March 31 marks the submission deadline for Four Way Books Levis Prize in Poetry. Submissions are open to all poets, regardless or publication history, for a book-length collection of poetry. Find full details online here.

The Indiana Review is accepting submissions until April 1 for their 2017 Poetry Prize. The contest is open to new original work from both established and emerging writers, so long as the work is previously unpublished. The winner will receive $1,000 and publication. The Oxford American is now offering a literary fellowship designed to support the writing of a debut book of creative nonfiction. the fellowship offers the winner a $10,000 living stipend, housing, and an editorial apprenticeship with the Oxford American toward a nine-month residency in the thriving creative community of Central Arkansas in Little Rock. Complete applications will include 300-500 word book proposal, a 300-500 word statement of interest in magazine editorial work, a creative nonfiction writing sample of no more than 12,000 words excerpted from the proposed project, and a curriculum vitae. The Black Lawrence Press is now accepting submissions for their Hudson Prize for poetry and short story collections until March 31. The poetry prize accepts manuscripts of 45-95 pages, and the fiction prize accepts manuscripts of 120-280 pages. Winners will receive publication, 10 copies of the book, and $1,000 cash. Fourth Genre, a dedicated creative nonfiction publisher, is currently accepting submissions to their Steinberg Essay Prize. The reading fee is $22 and the prize includes $1,000 and publication. Find out more on the submissions guidelines found here, and submit online.
