Do you know a tenure-line professor who deserves to be recognized for their excellent teaching? Nominate them for the 2020 Excellence in Teaching Award! The LAS Awards Committee solicits nominations from both faculty and students. From those nominations, two tenured/tenure-line faculty members will be chosen to receive the award. DePaul’s Blue Book: Best Illinois High School Writing 2018-2019, edited by Professor Chris Green and a class of graduate students, is now available at www.depaulsbluebook.com! Pieces were chosen from high school literary magazines submitted from across Illinois. Professor Green and his Editing class selected sixty-six pieces of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. This is the first of what Professor Green hopes to be an annual tribute to our state’s best young creative writers. If you’re free, please consider attending the anthology’s launch reading on Saturday, February 8th, 5:30-7:00, Student Center #314.
Writing and Publishing students: Rebecca Johns Trissler, director of MFA/MA in Creative Writing and Publishing, is planning on holding another pitch meeting for anyone who wants to talk about 1) pitching their work for publication; or 2) pitching themselves for jobs in publishing or higher education.
