Desert Nights, Rising Stars (DNRS) Writers Conference, will take place on October 16-17, 2026 at ASU Tempe. This year’s keynote is Stephen Graham Jones, alongside an exciting lineup of contemporary writers across genres, including poets Remica Bingham Risher, Lauren Camp, and Saúl Hernández; novelists Sally Wen Mao, Reyna Grande, and Barry Pearce; nonfiction writers Anel Flores and Nicole Walker; YA authors David Bowles and Diana López . Submit your work to the 17th Annual Spring English Conference! We are now accepting submissions for literary essays and creative writing pieces for the conference, where you will have the opportunity to present and discuss your work with audience members and fellow student panelists. Join us Friday, May 16, for the English Department’s biggest event of the year—our Spring English Conference & Celebration! In addition to presentations from Literary Studies and Creative Writing student panelists, this event will also feature a networking opportunity and career discussion with DePaul English alumni, work from MFA students, and an awards ceremony where high-achieving English students will be recognized with certificates.
