Continuing their Rogue Workshop Series, geared toward developing career skills through narrative techniques, the Career Center will be hosting “Stories Before Interviews.” The event will take place Thursday, April 14 and will focus upon developing storytelling skills that are applicable in a professional interview. The DePaul Humanities Center will be hosting three exciting events throughout April, each with a unique focus upon English, language, and writing. This is a final reminder for students to submit to DePaul’s seventh annual Spring English Conference. The conference takes place on Friday, April 29th and submissions are due this Friday, April 1st. Tomorrow, Wednesday March 16, the winter quarter LAS Faculty Research Symposium, “Constructions of History” will be held in the Student Center Room 314 A from 12:00-2:00 PM. The English Department’s own Paula McQuade will be presenting her work, “Second-Wave Feminism and the Recovery of Women Writers.” Find the full schedule below.

This Saturday the Newberry library will be hosting “The Turn to Religion: Women and Writing in Early Modern England.” The conference will focus on a new and exciting field of scholarship that explores the role of women’s devotional writing in shaping the English Reformation and Counter-Reformation. This year SAIC’s learning symposium, titled Going Off(Shore), attempts to flatten the typical hierarchical design of  conferences and take on a conversational format, inviting graduate students to submit generative conversational prompts that provoke a departure from stable ground, so as to rethink learning and curriculum. The symposium takes place Saturday, April 9th  from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. Submissions are due on March 11th, and can be sent here. LAS Student Government Senators, Benjamin Bui and Bohdana Bohny, along with Student Government Executive Vice President, Kristina Pouliot, are hosting an event on marketing humanities degrees. The event, “Learn, Acheive, Succeed: How to Market your LAS Degree” will be March 1st from 4:30-5:30 pm in A&L Room 207. Panelists include Gene Beiriger (Dept.
