The English Department seeks nominations for the Bill and Irene Beck Award for Community Engagement. This award is named for a family whose support of our own Big Shoulders Books makes possible the publication of socially conscious literature by and about Chicagoans. Taleamor Park offers self-directed residencies for artists and writers in all media who seek a restorative and productive countryside interlude of two weeks or more. Located near Lake Michigan 60 miles east of Chicago, Taleamor Park affords trails, woods, pollinator habitats, and ponds within a working grain and farm.
