Poetry Submissions: The C.D. Wright Emerging Poet's Prize

Submit to the C.D. Wright Emerging Poet’s Prize! The grand prize includes $1,000 and publication (as well as an Editor’s Choice Prize of $250 and publication). This year, the contest is being judged by none other than Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Jericho Brown.  The Arkansas International is  a literary magazine sponsored by The University of Arkansas Graduate Program in Creative Writing and Translation.  Check out their website: https://www.arkint.org/cd-wright-prize for more information.

Art Institute of Chicago's Jobs at Museums

Jobs at Art Museums (JAM) is a career awareness event at the Art Institute of Chicago. This year the event has been reimagined as a series of 12 presentations on Zoom over the course of winter and spring. Each talk will focus on a different theme, from Art & Science, to Community Programs, to “Handle with Care” (staff who actually touch objects), and more.  College and university students are invited to conversations with museum professionals representing a variety of departments and fields. Submissions for poetry, creative nonfiction, fiction, dramatic literature, and micro-prose are now open!  Any submissions sent in by 11:59 pm on February 12th will be given feedback and then have a chance to edit and resubmit their piece. After February 12th, all submissions will be received as is and the deadline is March 12th.  Submissions to multiple genres are allowed; however, please include the genre you are submitting to in the email’s subject line. Fruit Bat Press: A Chapbook Press Started By DePaul Alum. Submissions Open Feb 1-28

Fruit Bat is a Chapbook Press co-based in Chicago and Los Angeles, started by two DePaul alum and previous roommates. As posted on their About Page, they publish work that “embraces foraging: an unusual collection of ideas from a diverse set of perspectives with a basket of different emotions.” They will release their first three limited edition chapbooks in summertime 2021. Submissions open February 1 – February 28, 2021. Call for Submissions From a New Press Started by a DePaul Alum

Introducing Lillet (pronounced lee-lay after the French aperitif, that stimulates the appetite). Lillet publishes chapbooks. Prose, poetry, sketch/comedy scripts, some combination, or some new genre you’ve invented.  Their first open reading period is open from NOW until May 1. Submit on their website: lilletpress.com There is no reading fee or set number of manuscripts selected for publication this round 50 pg max.
