Submissions to DePaul’s award winning student-run literary journal, Crook & Folly, have been extended to March 8. Crook & Folly is accepting submissions of poetry, fiction, flash fiction, creative non-fiction, and dramatic literature. Submissions and questions can be sent to crookandfolly@gmail.com.
Nimrod International Journal is now accepting submissions to three different contests. Nimrod is accepting submissions of 3-10 pages of poetry. Fiction submissions of up to 7,500 words maximum are also being accepted. No previously submitted works will be accepted. For both of these contests first prize is $2,000 and second prize is $1,000. Nimrod is also accepting submissions to the Francine Ringold Awards for New Writers. Submissions of up to five pages of poetry, or 5,000 words of fiction are being accepted. The LAS Graduate Student Conference is happening this Friday! The conference showcases work from graduate students across the university, and is a unique opportunity to see the projects your DePaul colleagues have been working on. Students are especially encouraged to support their fellow English students presenting. During session I from 1:30-2:45, Mihaela Stoica (MAE), Jordan Weber (MAE), and Katelynn Moxon (MAWP) will be presenting in McGowan South Room 103. Arcturus, the sister publication of the Chicago Review of Books, is currently holding three different writing contests in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. All contests offer a $100 cash prize, publication, and a feature interview the Chicago Review of Books. Fiction and nonfiction should be no longer then 10,000 words.
