In partnership with the History Department, The English Department Visiting Writers Series is hosting a remote event for the release of Professor Kathleen Rooney and Professor Miles Harvey’s books beginning at 6:00 pm on September 30: Historical Research in Fiction and Creative Nonfiction: Readings and Conversation with Kathleen Rooney and Miles Harvey. DePaul’s English department is seeking two 2014–2015 graduate student representatives—one from the MAE program and one from the MAWP program—to represent English students in departmental discussions and decisions. Student representatives help faculty evaluate the teaching of professors who are going up for tenure or promotion. MAE and MAWP students may submit self-nominations to Ms. Jan Hickey (jhicke11@depaul.edu) by Friday, October 17. Nominees should include their name, contact information, and a statement (200 words maximum) explaining their interest in and qualifications for the position.
