Submissions for poetry, creative nonfiction, fiction, dramatic literature, and micro-prose are now open! Any submissions sent in by 11:59 pm on February 12th will be given feedback and then have a chance to edit and resubmit their piece. After February 12th, all submissions will be received as is and the deadline is March 12th. Submissions to multiple genres are allowed; however, please include the genre you are submitting to in the email’s subject line. DePaul art and literary magazine Crook & Folly will celebrate the release of Edition 35 this Thursday, May 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the DePaul Art Museum. Guest judges and Chicago writers Jonathan Eig, Jac Jemc, and Daniel Borzutzky will read; MAWP students Eric Hollander and Joe Hampton will provide their musical stylings; and magazines and snacks galore will be there for the taking. Crook & Folly will also introduce the 2015–2016 Edition 36 editors.

DePaul literary magazine Crook & Folly is hosting an open mic reading on Thursday, April 16. The reading will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Room 115 of Richardson Library. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to attend and share their fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and micro prose pieces. Complimentary donuts and coffee will be up for grabs.
Crook & Folly, DePaul’s student journal of literature and art, seeks applications from graduate and undergraduate students for two positions as 2016 editors in chief. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 22. Candidates should email a one-page (250-word) application letter describing relevant experience, commitment, and vision for the magazine as an attachment to Professor Borich (bborich@depaul.edu). Interviews will take place in mid-May.
DePaul literary magazine Crook & Folly is hosting the first of three workshops this Thursday. Students can receive one-on-one feedback on their writing from the editorial staff. DePaul literary magazine Crook & Folly is hosting a micro prose event tomorrow night. The magazine staff will lead attendees in a few writing exercises and share examples of compelling pieces in the genre. RSVP here. Attendees should bring two hard copies of a piece they’d like to rework as a micro prose piece. Both fiction and nonfiction pieces are welcome.
