The DePaul Visiting Writers’ Series is excited to announce that nonfiction writer Jen Percy will be doing a reading at DePaul on February 20th at 6 p.m. in Richardson 115. Percy will be reading from her upcoming nonfiction novel Demon Camp, which begins with the story of a Special Ops soldier who believes his PTSD is caused by demons, but becomes about the author’s obsession with the strange and mesmerizing world she encounters. REMINDER: in order for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences to verify the completion of academic requirements, students must apply for degree conferral (graduation) in advance to have a degree posted and to receive a diploma. If you plan on graduating in June of 2013, the deadline to apply for degree conferral as well as the Commencement ceremony is this Friday, February 1st. There’s one last chance to enter the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival’s 27th Annual One-Act Play Contest, which is accepting submissions until November 1st, 2012. The Tennessee Williams Literary Festival is looking for never-produced one-act plays with a small cast that run no more than one hour in length.Finding fresh literary talent of all genres is at the heart of the Festival’s mission. This morning, DePaul’s literary journal Threshold announced the winners of the 2012 Threshold Literary Award for Excellence, and we are pleased to say that two of the winners are our own English graduate students.
