Today is Brooksday, an annual, day-long celebration of the life and legacy of one of Chicago’s literary legends, Gwendolyn Brooks. The Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E Washington St., is hosting a free Brooksday celebration running all day from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The works of Gwendolyn Brooks will be read by a rotation of Chicago writers, including DePaul’s own Achy Obejas, Amina Gautier, Bayo Ojikutu, and Mark Turcotte.
