Glimmer Train is accepting submissions for its Fiction Open through June 30, 2015. The writing contest is open to all writers, subjects, and themes. The first-place winner garners $2,500 and publication. The reading fee is $20 per story. Writers may submit their stories here.

Glimmer Train‘s Very Short Fiction Award is now accepting submissions. This contest welcomes any story of up to 3,000 words that has not been accepted for print publication. The reading fee is $15 per story. The prizes are as follows: • First place: $1,500, publication in Glimmer Train Stories, and 20 copies of that issue • Second place: $500 (or, if accepted for publication, $700 and 10 copies) • Third place: $300 (or, if accepted for publication, $700 and 10 copies) The submission deadline is April 30, 2015.

Glimmer Train is accepting submissions for its Short Story Award for New Writers through February 28, 2015. Writers may submit stories of up to 12,000 words. The reading fee is $15 per story. The winner will receive $1,500 and publication in Issue 96 of Glimmer Train.  

A notice from Glimmer Train. New Writer Award: First place wins $1,500 and publication in Issue 96. This category is open only to emerging writers whose fiction has not appeared in any print publication with a circulation of more than 5,000. (Seven of the last eight first place New Writer winners have been those authors’ first print publications.)
