Today in Student News, we are happy to announce that MAWP student and GA Mark Brand will be heading to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Fall 2013 where he’ll will be working on a PhD in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. Mark will be studying with Liam Callanan and Valeria Laken in their fiction-writing faculty and working toward a new novel as a creative dissertation. Congratulations, Mark! Today in student news, congratulations to Rhiannon Falzone (MAWP), who got a story published on ChicagoSide, a new online Chicago sports magazine. Rhiannon’s story, “Chicago Hoops’ League-Leading Guard Is Back — And It’s Not D-Rose,” is her second piece for the site. Congratulations also to Bethany Brownholtz (MAWP), who has been named the new Assistant Editor for the online literary journal Blood Lotus. The academic year is nearly at an end, and although some of you will be back next week for summer classes, many of us, including Ex Libris, are taking the summer off. Ex Libris will resume posting at the beginning of the Fall Quarter, in the first week of September. Today Ex Libris is excited to bring you two Student News announcements: Rhiannon Falzone (MAWP) has had an essay published in The Violet, an online quarterly magazine based in California. Rhiannon’s essay, entitled “Let Her Go,” appears in the spring issue, which has the theme of Rebirth.
