Mark your calendars! The DePaul Visiting Writer’s Series is happy to announce their Fall 2012 schedule of events, the first of which takes place next week. The first event in the Visiting Writer’s Series is entitled “Local Authors: Chicago’s Own,” and will feature readings by Nami Mun, Aaron Baker, and Eugene Cross. DePaul’s Visiting Writers’ Program is thrilled to announce an extraordinary literary event this week at DePaul. On Thursday, May 3rd, the celebrated poet Campbell McGrath reads at 6 p.m. in Rosati Room 300 of the John T. Richardson Library. Campbell is the author of nine books, including Spring Comes to Chicago and the recently released In the Kingdom of the Sea Monkeys. His work has received many of America’s most significant literary honors, including the Kingsley Tufts Award and fellowships from the MacArthur and Guggenheim Foundations. I was one of three fortunate M.A.W.P. students who had their stories selected for the hour-and-a-half workshop.
