TODAY- On Tuesday, February 4th from 12-3pm visit DePaul’s Richardson Library on LPC to learn what YOU can do about climate change. Organizations from across campus and the city of Chicago will be available to teach, engage, and inspire you to make a difference. MFA/MAWP students can take a summer workshop at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop for graduate course credit. Check out the summer course offerings here: https://writersworkshop.uiowa.edu/summer-programs. Taleamor Park, located on a scenic farm 60 miles east of Chicago, is offerong two-week residencies for writers and artists in all media between May 9 and September 5.   Residents live in a lovely 1854 Italianate farmhouse that has four private air-conditioned bedrooms, two bathrooms, two kitchens, a laundry room, two common rooms, a library, a writing nook, and a paper studio. Vintage outbuildings offer both private and spacious shared studio spaces. The Alchemist Review is the literary journal at the University of Illinois at Springfield is excited to announce their journal is open to submissions from all undergraduate students in Illinois! The Alchemist Review is a print journal that launches in April. They publish creative writing including but not limited to fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction, art, and photography by new and experienced writers. They especially encourage submissions from women, people of color, LGBTQIA+ writers, writers with disabilities, and writers with intersectional identities. The Schweitzer Fellowship is currently recruiting graduate students in health, social service, and public interest professions to apply for 2020-2021 Schweitzer Fellowships. HerStry, an online literary magazine and writing community for women based in Milwaukee, is open for 2020 submissions! HerStry accepts both personal essays (not paying) and monthly theme essays (paying). They welcome women identifying writers of all levels and talents to tell their stories. They accept all types of stories as long as they are true and about you. No topic is off limits! Women of color and LGBTQ writers are especially encouraged to submit.
