Thin Air, a MFA run literary journal at Northern Arizona University, is now accepting work for their online and printed publications through Submittable. Their print issue– published annually each spring– will accept submissions until December 1, 2019. Alongside their print journal, Thin Air also offers the opportunity for publication through their online Web Features with no submission fee at all.   Please submit via the Thin Air Magazine Submittable Page.

Nowhere Magazine, a literary travel-writing publication, is now open for submissions to their Fall contests! Founded in 2008, Nowhere awards two authors per year $1,000 each for their winning entry into their spring and fall writing contests. On October 30, join the English Department as we host our first event of the year in partnership with One Book, One Chicago. This year’s One Book selection is Elizabeth Kolbert’s The Sixth Extinction, and our first panel discussion will focus on solutions to human-caused climate change. “What Can We Do About Climate Change?” will be moderated by our own Ted Anton with Mark Potosnak, Barbara Willard, Jill Hopke, and Ali Fatemi all discussing their own work in relation to our changing climate.
