Call for Submissions The November Open Reading Period Black Lawrence Press seeks innovative, electrifying, and thoroughly intoxicating manuscripts. During the June and November Open Reading Periods, they accept submissions in the following categories: novel, novella, short story collection (full-length and chapbook), poetry (full-length and chapbook), biography & cultural studies, translation (from the German), and the creative nonfiction. Black Lawrence Press accepts submissions exclusively through their online submission manager, Submittable.

Rose Metal Press’ 12th ANNUAL SHORT SHORT CHAPBOOK CONTEST BEGINS NOV. 1 Get your flash fiction and flash nonfiction chapbook manuscripts ready, because the annual contest opens next Wednesday, November 1, and runs through December 1. Just a few weeks left to enter the Nonfiction Prize. The Ruminate Vandermey Nonfiction Prize closes November 15th, with a $1500 cash prize and publication awarded to the winning writer, and $200 and publication awarded to the second-place writer.
