The LGBTQ Studies Program’s Creative and Scholarly Works Contest is now accepting submissions! The contest is interdisciplinary and accepts both academic scholarship and creative works in multiple medias addressing a theme, topic, or issue relevant to LGBTQ studies. Two entrants, one graduate and on undergraduate, will be selected for a $250 cash prize. Submissions are due May 1st. Enter online here, send questions to bjohns58@depaul.edu. The 2017  Midwestern Modern Language Association Conference (MMLA) is open for submissions! The conference is accepting submissions for special sessions and permanent sections which are due April 15. Dixie State University’s Route 7 Review is currently accepting submissions. Submissions close on April 15. Visit their website for further details. From the editors: Route 7 Review is an online literary journal based out of Dixie State University, located between Zion National Park and the Mojave Desert. We strive to provide our audience with pieces of art and literature, that enables them to view the world in a new way.

The Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park is hosting their annual short story contest. The contest is accepting submissions of no longer than 1,500 words. The deadline for Cold Mountain Review’s R.T. Smith Prize for Narrative Poetry is fast approaching, on March 15! The prize awards a narrative poem on ecological and/or eco-justice $500. All submissions will be considered for publication in the spring issue of CMR. Find out more and submit online.

Submissions to DePaul’s award winning student-run literary journal, Crook & Folly, have been extended to March 8. Crook & Folly is accepting submissions of poetry, fiction, flash fiction, creative non-fiction, and dramatic literature. Submissions and questions can be sent to crookandfolly@gmail.com.

Nimrod International Journal is now accepting submissions to three different contests. Nimrod is accepting submissions of 3-10 pages of poetry. Fiction submissions of up to 7,500 words maximum are also being accepted. No previously submitted works will be accepted. For both of these contests first prize is $2,000 and second prize is $1,000. Nimrod is also accepting submissions to the Francine Ringold Awards for New Writers. Submissions of up to five pages of poetry, or 5,000 words of fiction are being accepted.
