The deadline for Glimmer Train‘s Short Story Award for New Writers is February 28. The contest is open to emerging writers and the 1st place prize includes publication in Glimmer Train, 10-copies of the issue, and $2,500. Las Angeles-based ideas magazine Zócal Public Square is open for submissions for their 6th annual poetry prize . They are searching for a U.S. poet whose poem best evokes a connection to place.
