The Chicago Writers Showcase is back next month to celebrate upcoming releases from Chicago Authors, including DePaul English faculty Kathleen Rooney. The event takes place on Tuesday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Haymarket House, and you can RSVP here. Here’s the full lineup:

On Thursday, April 23, one of Miles Harvey’s short stories, Four Faces, is being featured at the Rosewood Tavern, 5726 N. Western Ave. The event will feature a reading by Chicago actress Rengin Altay and music by Lisa DeRosia and Colby Maddox.
On April 24 and 25, The UChicago Program in Creative Writing will host its annual Literary Arts Lab Festival, this year featuring writers Andrea Long Chu, Teju Cole, Richard Siken, and Jamila Woods for two days of panel discussions, craft talks, and readings. Staff from Pilsen Community Books will be on site both days to sell a selection of titles by this year’s guests, with each book offered at half the usual price. Becky Wills, a 2016 graduate of the English Department, is celebrating the release of her new book Stun: A Novel in Pieces via Tortoise Books at Uncommon Ground on Wednesday, April 1 at 6 p.m. Wills received a BA from DePaul University, an MFA from The New School, and a PhD from University of Surrey, where she teaches creative writing.
