The deadline for Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival’s Fiction Contest is approaching fast, and the organizers are excited to unearth new writing talent.  Amy Hempel, the master of the short form, will serve as the contest’s judge. If this isn’t enough of a draw to enter, it might help to know that they’re also offering a $1,500 grand prize plus a trip to New Orleans for the 26th Annual Tennessee Williams New Orleans Literary Festival to the winner.

Guidelines: Submit one unpublished, original short story, written in English, up to 7,000 words in length. Only open to writers who have not yet published a book of fiction. Author’s name should not appear on submission. Include a separate cover page with story title and word count, author’s name, address, phone and email. The Presenters Of Enlightenment Through Spoken word poetry organization on DePaul’s campus has an event coming up this Thursday, Oct. 27th from 8-10pm at Cortelyou Commons.
