Chicago Women in Publishing (CWIP) Presents the:

Publishing for Professionals Workshop

Chicago Women in Publishing is excited to sponsor this upcoming full-day workshop on Saturday, March 11 in the Loop. CWIP has contributed to Chicago’s publishing community for 45 years and is now extending its valuable expertise to entrepreneurs and professionals. Four expert speakers will provide a full day of content to guide participants through creating, publishing, and promoting a niche-market nonfiction book to use as marketing tool and branding opportunity for their businesses.

You don’t have to be a superblogger or have a journalism degree to write a compelling book; after all, you are the expert in your niche, so writing about it should come easy to anyone with passion and determination. The remainder of the process can be handled by publishing professionals who make it easy for you.

Author Sarah Connell will kick the workshop off with a presentation on author branding and the advantages of writing a business book as a marketing tool, followed by Editor Jill Welsh, who will dive into taking the first steps of writing and editing a manuscript. Following lunch, Self-Publishing Consultant Kim Bookless will discuss publishing options and the benefits of self-publishing. Finally, Publisher Bethany Brown will tackle how to effectively market and sell your final product.
