The Vine Leaves Vignette Collection Award is open for submissions. Writers may enter a 50- to 60-page manuscript of vignettes. The winner receives a $500 prize, publication by Vine Leaves Press, and 20 copies of his or her book. The deadline is February 28, 2015. Submit your manuscript here.

The Caribbean Chapter of the College English Association (CEA-CC) is accepting paper proposals for its 2015 annual conference, which will take place at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez  March 12–13, 2015. The topic is Disability Studies. As the website states, “We welcome papers that investigate the cultural, social and political interactions of the humanities (arts, language and literature) and technology, as they relate to the conceptualizing Dis/Ability.” Submit an abstract of up to 100 words in the body of an e-mail (not an attachment) by September 30, 2014,  to cea.cc.conference@gmail.com.

Crook & Folly, DePaul’s art and literary magazine, is accepting applications from graduate and undergraduate students for positions as 2015 issue editors. The deadline is noon on Monday, September 29. To apply, submit a one-page (250-word) letter describing relevant experience, commitment, and vision for the magazine as an email attachment to Professor Barrie Jean Borich at bborich@depaul.edu.    

The Guild Literary Complex is seeking submissions for its 2014 Prose Awards.  Illinois residents aged 18 and older may submit an original piece of up to 1,000 words.  The winner in each category (fiction and nonfiction) will receive a cash prize of $500. The deadline to submit is Wednesday, October 1, 2014.    

The Lascaux Prize in Poetry The deadline for the inaugural Lascaux Prize in Poetry contest is September 23, 2014. Poets may enter more than once and may submit up to five poems per entry. Pieces of all lengths and styles are welcome. The winner receives $1,000 and publication in The Lascaux Review. The Christine E. Eldin Memorial Fellowship The deadline for the inaugural Christine E. Eldin Memorial Fellowship is December 31, 2014. Submit the first 5,000 words of an unpublished middle-grade fiction manuscript and a comprehensive synopsis (up to 2,000 words). Write Pieces Inspired by Pieces in a Gallery Submit writing to “Inklight,” a meeting place of creative writing and photography published on the web site ofAfterimage: The Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism published at Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York. Spring 2014 Story Contest OUR SPRING CONTEST is open to all fiction and nonfiction writers. We’re looking for short shorts, short stories, essays, memoirs, photo essays, graphic stories, all forms of literary nonfiction, and excerpts from longer works of both fiction and nonfiction.
