In this 14th year of the Miller Audio Contest, The Missouri Review is excited to announce a reimagining of the competition: the contest is now open year-round and 12 finalists from each of our four categories will be featured throughout 2021 on the new Miller Aud-Cast. At the end of 2021, one winner from among the 12 featured finalists in each category will be awarded $1000. The Missouri Review is excited to announce the re-vamping of the Perkoff Prize, the original benefactor of which, Dr. Gerald Thomas Perkoff, was Professor Emeritus at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. This year, the contest is open for submissions in fiction, nonfiction and poetry; entries are sought that engage in evocative and compelling ways with health and medicine. Submit to the C.D. Wright Emerging Poet’s Prize! The grand prize includes $1,000 and publication (as well as an Editor’s Choice Prize of $250 and publication). This year, the contest is being judged by none other than Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Jericho Brown. The Arkansas International is a literary magazine sponsored by The University of Arkansas Graduate Program in Creative Writing and Translation. Submissions for poetry, creative nonfiction, fiction, dramatic literature, and micro-prose are now open! Any submissions sent in by 11:59 pm on February 12th will be given feedback and then have a chance to edit and resubmit their piece. After February 12th, all submissions will be received as is and the deadline is March 12th. Fruit Bat is a Chapbook Press co-based in Chicago and Los Angeles, started by two DePaul alum and previous roommates. As posted on their About Page, they publish work that “embraces foraging: an unusual collection of ideas from a diverse set of perspectives with a basket of different emotions.” They will release their first three limited edition chapbooks in summertime 2021.
