Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and Fine Arts, is currently accepting submissions for the annual Gulf Coast Prize contests!  There are three all-star final judges, including Chen Chen (Poetry), Joshua Ferris (Fiction), and Lacy M. Johnson (Nonfiction). The contest awards publication and $1,500 each to the best poem, essay, and short story, as well as $250 to two honorable mentions in each genre. UNAPOLOGETIC is a magazine made by and for the DePaul community and they want to publish your work! The magazine is focused around how creative outlets help to form identity and is meant to show the expansive amount of creativity within the DePaul community. Work can be published under your name, a pen name, or anonymous; it’s up to you! Twice each year Black Lawrence Press will run the Black River Chapbook Competition for an unpublished chapbook of poems or short fiction between 16-36 pages in length. The contest is open to new, emerging, and established writers. The winner will receive book publication, a $500 cash award, and ten copies of the book. Prizes are awarded on publication. This anthology seeks to bring together the magic of the Tarot, photography and poetry. They are looking for 78 poets to create original poems in response to a Tarot card they are assigned. If you decide to participate in the project, you will be assigned a Tarot card, and you will craft a poem in response to this card: however you’d like to interpret it, or your relationship with it.  2018 Contest: The Future Each year, three prizes of $1,000 each and publication in Sonora Review are awarded to a short story, an essay, and a poem or group of poems.  The Antioch Writers’ Workshop at University of Dayton is presenting the Richard M. Sirota Prize and Scholarship. It consists of full tuition to the Antioch Writers’ Workshop, which will be held July 14-20, a stipend for lodging, and publication of a short story in a forthcoming issue of the AWW Collection. The deadline to submit is April 15, 2018 and winners will be announced on May 15, 2018. Submission guidelines for the scholarship as well as a few other scholarships they offer can be found here.
